In life, we come across many paths. Whatever crossroads may come our way, choose to find joy in your journey. The path may not lead you in the way you expected. Your path might be flat and easy or it might be bumpy and full of hills. But you never know where it might lead! You can't always choose where your path may take you but you can choose your attitude. Heavenly Father knows what path will help you become the person He wants you to be. Trust His path for you.

February Road Trips

This month was full of trips all over the place! One weekend I went down to St. George with the family to watch Sandi play in a softball tournament. This is her last year of softball and it was fun to go see her play. I know I have said this before, but the moments that I spend with my family are becoming more and more precious and special to me. I love the teasing from Dad, the laughs from Mom, and the special moments that I get to spend with each of my sisters. I think the times that we will all be together will occur less frequently as our lives take us in different directions.... which is why I cherish them so much.

Over the President's day weekend I took a road trip with my friend Marisa up to Washington and Oregon. She had her internship interview in Portland so we made it a 5-day adventure! It was a long drive up to northern Washington. We stayed with her brother and he showed us around the area. When we arrived on Saturday we went on a hike and watched the sun set on Camano Island. Sunday we found a church to attend sacrament meeting, and then took a ferry out to one of the San Juan islands. The ferry ride was really fun! We went on a bike ride around half the island and then hiked up a trail to a view point. It was so beautiful to see the Pugetsound, the vibrant blue water, and the lush green islands. Marisa's brother knows the ins and outs of this area so it was nice to have someone take us around to some fun places!

On our way to Portland we went to downtown to Seattle. It was fun to walk through Pike's Market, Fisherman's warf, the Space Needle, and the EMP museum! Marisa and I had a fun time at the EMP music museum playing with all of their fun instruments and sound equipment.

Tuesday and Wednesday we spent time in Portland. Marisa had her interview with Earth Tones Music Therapy. They had things set up for us to do the whole observation, orientation, interview, facilitation and such for her interview. She did really well and I am excited to see how it turns out for her! While I was driving around Portland with Marisa I received a phone call about an internship application that I turned in for Langley Porter Psychiatric Hospital in San Francisco! They wanted me to come out for an interview!!!! So that is going to be our Spring Break adventure. While in Portland we got to experience the funness of food carts and voodoo doughnuts! One thing is definitely true...They are keeping Portland weird haha.

This past week I am trying to recover from getting sick... Not enough sleep kills my immune system. I had an interview down at BYU for a position as an EFY counselor this summer. I don't think it went very well. My head felt fuzzy because of the cold medicine I was taking and I had almost zero energy, exactly what they are NOT looking for in a potential EFY counselor haha. Oh well. I guess I will just wait to see what happens.

The past few weeks I've been in kind of a rut... I am just loosing my energy and motivation for certain things. I feel like I am running out of steam. I think that I have been getting discouraged and frustrated more than usual with situations that are out of my control. It has really helped me to learn to keep pressing forward despite these setbacks. I am still trying to have a positive outlook on my future and what it holds in store for me. All I can do is work hard, put all my effort into finishing school, and trust that Heavenly Father will continue to lead me down the path where He wants me to go.
